Hello, I would like to know if there are any examples on any web sites/ftp servers online with examples of configuration needed to setup high availability data replication on an Informix database?? I am looking for sample code and scripts.... My platform is Solaris 2.x Thanks for any clues Lora -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own
As for code, Informix ships demo programs (source and executable in $INFORMIXDIR/demo/cdrapi) with the database. It is a rather trivial thing to script up these programs which would query the database and automatically set up the replicates. The only annoying thing is that you are limited to 18 characters with the replicate names. In this a special distribution? I checked my
installation and the only subdirectories underneath
demo are: c++, cli, dbaccess and esqlc. I don't see
cdrapi?

You are confusing HDR (high availiablity) with ER/CDR (enterprise replication) also the demo api programs are only useful on 7.2x, on 7.3, 7.31 and 9.2 use the command line 'cdr' (and read the manual).
