Mostly 1 dbspace = 1 chunk but you may want larger dbspaces (more chunks) if you have single tables that are larger than there is space for in one chunk (the alternative which is often very usefull is fragmentation - 1 table fragmented over many dbspaces). If you think you can get away with smaller chuncks think about the price of disk drives these days. Of course if this where for the Personal Edition you would probably allocate smaller chunks if you had less data, but not for a larger installation. Do you want to know how much space your tables and indexes will take up? There are formulas in the manuals, but we have allways found it easier to simply load a significant amount of data and see the results.
