Informix-NT Performance problems

I have big problem with HP LXr 8000 with 4xprocessors Xeon 400, 1Mb, 2048 RAM, NT 4 Server Enterprise Edition, SP4 and Informix Database. After rising user sessions over 1000 the average CPU time on all processors(all thy are allowed for Informix use) raised over 70% and users complained slow response from the server. Memory is OK. Network is not the problem. Is it the problem of Informix- NT integration or I could solve the problem just adding 2 or 4 additional processors. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

You didn't mention what Informix version are you running and how the engine is configured. Post your onconfig file so that others may better help you.
