We have dbspaces created from cooked files on a Linux system. Recently we
discontinued any need for one of the dbspaces and have dropped it using
onmonitor. That leaves us with a set of chunk files left.
I would like to confirm that, if those chunks were used only for the one
dbspace, that there shouldn't be anything left in Informix that references
them and it is safe to rm them through Linux.

Thank you,

You can either run:*onstat -d* that will give you the list of chunks part of
your instance.
You can also use:*select fname from sysmaster:syschunks*
Any file that is not in one of the 2 lists can be deleted using rm.
Be careful, you need it to do it for all of the instances of you machine. You
can do that by going thru the other instances by changing the INFORMIXSERVER
environment variable.
Be also careful, sometimes some instances are not running. If this is the
case, and you rm one of the chunks, when you start up the instance again, the
instance my not start if the chunk is critical or the instance will start and
the chunk removed will be flagged "down" and hence inaccessible.
