In answer to my problem about inability to change tbconfig parameters. } This probably isn't an exact match to your question about TBCONFIG, } but I thought I would throw it out anyway. } } I recently discovered on a new AIX system that the file } $INFORMIXDIR/etc/tbconfig.std was missing, but I thought nothing of it } at first because $INFORMIXDIR/etc/tbconfig was there, which was being } referenced by the variable TBCONFIG. } } When I tried to bring up On-line I got this error that said tbconfig couldn't } be found. I copied tbconfig to tbconfig.std and On-line came up. } We can make changes to tbconfig, and that's the file that seems to be } read in the initialization routine (confirmed by making changes in } tbconfig and tbconfig.std with vi and observing the result with tbmonitor } in the Initialization module). } } I find this very strange. It tells me that tbconfig.std needs to be around } for moral support of some kind, and the file pointed to by TBCONFIG is } what the initialization routine relies on for data. I hope this helps. } } ------------------------------------------------------------------ } John R.
