Is IDS for Linux really up to snuff?

I've been having trouble with 25580 errors on my Linux IDS server. The server was installed with Redhat 6.1 as 6.0 does not support the IBM raid controller. (It is a Netfinity 5000 31Y). Now Informix support claims they do not support 6.1 (which is be true), and I am just curious if anyone is using IDS 7.30UC7-1 on Redhat 6.0 successfully? I am also curious why the release notes for IDS only mention 2.0.x series kernels when the web site states it has been ceritified for 2.2.5? Overall, so far, IDS for Linux has been a dismal experience, and we use Linux to provide most of our network services and are very pleased with it's performance.
We're using IDS on Debian GNU Linux 2.1 (kernel 2.0.36) for internal development for 6 months now and 12 of our clients have migrated too. It seems fine for "workgroup level" usage! Fernando -- Fernando Fernandez http://despodata.pt/ddata/pessoal/ferdez.htm
Hi Adam, we use IDS in production for a medium size project (around 50 concurrent users) on Suse Linux 6.2. After some fiddling with onconfig and linux settings it seems to run quite reliable and fast. You should update to 7.30.UC10 which seems to have some problems fixed which were bugging us. Use at least kernel 2.2.13 better 2.2.14 if you are on the 2.2.x series of kernels, as prior kernels had race conditions which affected Informix badly (at least on smp machines).
