Thierry Achaintre asked whether two products needing different Informix run-times could run on one machine. Michael Krzepkowski, Jonathan Leffler and Paul Watson all said yes: give each setup its own INFORMIXDIR and set the environment carefully. Leffler ran 5.10, 7.24, 7.31 and 9.20 side by side on one Solaris box. Solved.

Hi!
Yes, you have to make sure INFORMIXDIR points to the correct directory.

Hi all,
I have to make running two products on the same box. Both use Informix
Run-Times differents.
Is it possible to make running this two different run-times on the same box
?
Thanks.

Only two?
Put each separate setup in its own INFORMIXDIR, and be careful to set (and
unset) the
environment correctly when you need to the other setup. On my Solaris box, I
have 5.10,
7.24, 7.31 and 9.20 systems installed and runnable at the same time.

You can have as many as the box is able to cope. Just set INFORMIXDIR
etc
to be different for each version you want
