Informix, substring search, PHP

Hello, I am looking for a way to have a database driven site, with full substring search over the database. After looking around, and not finding much, I saw that Informix, with the text datablade seems to do the trick. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this, also, does Informix work with PHP (Scripting language)? what other languages support it? Are there any other solutions you can recomend (I was fidling with Postgres, but all I seem to be able to do is linear substring search, useless)... Thanks in advance, Bruno Schmidt brunos@icox.com

Complete overkill. > I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this, also, does yes, I used mix of MySQL and ProgreSQL, for exactly the same reason. Now I'm removing MySQL. > Informix work with PHP (Scripting language)? yes. > what other languages > support it? Download Phorum (www.phorum.org), even if you do not need it. It (the db abstract layer) will show you how to do this. -- Yours, Andrej Falout, http://www.falout.com ICQ 7628616 ++64.21.607517 #----------------------------------------------------------------- globals "std_disclaimer.4gl" Ask yourself just one question: ' Qu' m's se puede hacer y aprender ? - Propellerhead ReBirth RB-338 manual
