Posted in 2000
Topics: Server Administration
Hi, all:
I want to update some row of a certain table using DBACCESS.
At first, I use such a sql to get the count of rows:
select count(*) from tab1 where <condition>
But, when I use this sql
update tab1 set field='U' where <condition>Every time I execute it, it only update 129 rows.
I don't know why?
Thanks in advance.

Which database engine? Which version? On which platform?
Speculation: really old versions of SE using CREATLOCK locking would
run out of locks at 64 -- well, that's what I thought. Maybe it was
128, and
this corresponds to your 129, more or less... Not a good hypothesis,
but
without any data, as good as I can come up with before I sign off for
the night.

FTX? Pyramid PTX? Platform information includes maker, some
indication of which model, the operating system, and the o/s version.
My fault for not being clear.
OnLine 7.13 is not Y2K compliant. You are treading on thin ice using it.
Beware trying to do a restore from archives. Double check the Y2K page
at the Informix web site. Then upgrade!
What error do you get?
