Hi Tom, check the following: 1. Service sqlexec exists in %windir%\\system32\\drivers\\etc\\services ? 2. Port number for sqlexec is unique ? try the following: in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Software\\Informix\\SQLHOSTS\\... PROTOCOL "sesoctcp" HOST NT-Computername We don't use Standard Engine here. So, I don't know if it is ok that there are no entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Software\\Informix\\se32\\CurrentVersion\\Environment. Check the NT environment variables under Control Panel/System/Environment. Does the standard engine have a sysmaster database ? If so try to get a connection with this database.
