Hi there,
I'm trying Informix 4GL and SE on my SUN sparc 5.7 server.
These products were obtained from the Intraware "try and buy"
download area.
I get the -369 error whenever I try to run a programme attempting
to access the database. A simple 4GL programme without any
database access works fine.
The Informix installation process was done under root account
with INFORMIXDIR and PATH environment variables
correctly set. 4GL was first install and then SE.
I do not have any problem with dbaccess, dbimport and
compilation process.
The compilation is done with Gnu CC version 2.8.1. with
static libraries.
The 4GL version is 7.30.UC2 for Sun sparc Solaris
The SE version is 7.24.UC8 for Sun sparc Solaris
Would it be possible to have any help on that problem ?
Thank you by advance
Best regards

If you use GCC to compile 4GL you have to be careful to pass
-fwriteable-strings. In addition, since the 4GL is a later version than the
server you have to install it AFTER the server NOT before, the rule of TEN
not withstanding (Tools before Engines before Network products). So you
have two unrelated problems.
