PDQ and IDS 7.3

I am using IDS 7.30 UC8 on HP-UX 10.20 which is primarily used for DSS
queries. The users run reports off the database (from Win95/NT pcs)
using a tool called Business Objects which uses the Informix CLI
interface to connect.
I have several fragmented tables and want to enable PDQ but don't know
how to set it for their environment.I cannot set it at the session
level because most of the SQL is generated and does not allow for the
SET PDQPRIORITY command. I cannot set it at the environment levelbecause CLI does not execute the unix profile and there is no variable
that accounts for it in the SetNet32(ver 7.23) utility.
Is their any way I can globally set the PDQPRIORITY variable so that
these users can use PDQ??
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

Set PDQPRIORITY in the engine's environment when it starts up. That valuewill be the default for all users. IDS 7.1 had a PDQPRIORITY ONCONFIG
parameter but that is no longer functional in later versions so this is the
only way to set a default.

Depending on how many users you have, though, and how much work they
actually do, I wouldn't set it above 1. Setting it to 1 will enable
parellel sorts and the like, but it won't affect the PDQ gate.
(Meaning, 100 percent of PDQ is already in use, please wait until
somebody finishes...) I've gotten quite a bit of a performance increase
by setting PDQ to 1. (In some cases. If the SQL doesn't do any
sorting, ordering, or grouping, this probably won't help you.)
