Hi,
Can we limit the maximum number of connections to an IDS instance.
With following configuration, connections can be created:
NETTYPE ipcshm,5,50,CPU
NETTYPE tlitcp,5,50,NET

Thanks Obnoxio. So what is the purpose of definig these numbers (5 & 50) in:
NETTYPE ipcshm,5,50,CPUif are not defining them as limits?
The NETTYPE settings do not limit the number of concurrent connections. OK
- for the shared memory connections - ipcshm - it does, so here you have
allowed up to 250 shared memory connections. However, networked and other
stream type connections (tlitcp, soctcp, strpip, etc.) are not limited by
the NETTYPE which just acts to allocate initial resources which expand
dynamically as needed.

IDS 11.50 allows you to limit number of uses session by setting an onconfig
parameter LIMITNUMSESSIONS
Please check
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/idshelp/v115/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.a
dref.doc/ids_adr_1060.htm for details.
You can dynamically changes this parameter using onmode -wf or onmode -wm
