remote informix access

Hi all we curently have a requirement for a Website to access an Informix machine throught a Firewall. The Website is using the PERL DBD for Informix and is running on Apache/Linux. The Informix server is online 5.10 and running on a HP9000 machine. What product would I need to allow me to use the DBD on the Linux machine to run the SQL on the HP server ( I-Connect ?? ) and if so is it the client that needs the software or the server Thanks David Johanson.

For the client I believe you need the Client SDK (because of the ESQL-C) and DBI-Informix to connect to the Informix Server using DBD in Perl. If you have only simple accesses you can try dbiproxy, also. You need the DBI module for perl on the webserver only. On the HP box you need DBI and DBD-Informix. The requests are passed via the proxy to the hp machine and are executed via DBD-Informix on the database machine directly. Works nicely for us if the load isn't too high. Your mileage may vary.
