If you are asking how to access Informix Database from SQL Server then use "the linked server concept". You may find linked server configuration information from MSDN. I have a similar question regarding database access from Linux to MS systems. Can Informix "serve" up data from other DBMS's as if they were native tables? Similar to the "linked server" concept in SQL Server. This is where you define an ODBC/OLE DB connection at the Informix database level to another database engine - the data from that engine then appears as native tables within the Informix database. I'm trying to flesh out what connection/data access options we have integrating data with an Informix instance running on Linux and another database engine running on a windows platform (most likely SQL Server 2005). Maybe a stupid question altogether - does OLE DB even exist in the Linux world?
