Hi,
Everytime I try to write into or create a temp table, it gives me the error
229: Could not open or create a temporary file.
131: ISAM error: no free disk space
The /tmp directory shows 99% free/available.
Could someone tell me what's wrong? and how to go abt it?
INFORMIX-OnLine Version 7.20.UC2 and Sun Solaris 2.8
thanks,

Hi George!
In onconfig file:
DBSPACETEMP # Default temp dbspaces
Maybe you have not free space in DBSPACETEMP.
You can check with 'onstat -d' command
I hope, it is good for you!
Sorry for my poor English
Bye Gabor

Online does not create ANY tables in /tmp. Temp tables that are logged
are created in the ROOTDB space (ie dbspace #1) and non-logged temp tables
are created (in IDS 7.2x) in one of the dbspaces listed in the DBSPACETEMP
environment variable or ONCONFIG parameter (the environment variable takes
precedence). It looks like your ROOTDB space does not have enough space
for the temp table. Either add another chunk to rootdbs dbspace or, if
you have a DBSPACETEMP temporary dbspace defined, declare the table
WITHOUT LOG in the CREATE TEMP TABLE or SELECT .... INTO TEMP statement:
CREATE TEMP TABLE fred (:::::
) WITHOUT LOG;
-OR-
SELECT ......::::
INTO TEMP fred WITHOUT LOG;
