Re: Top Databases Used

What does a person that doesn't have any Informix experience nor any interest in Informix doing in an Informix user group? Come to see how green the grass is here? Oracle bashing, though fun, I will admit, is not unsolicited as you obviously think. Do you think this is the forum to be cavalier? Go play gladiator somewhere else. We all find this amusing, but you've worn out your welcome. Go home to your own user group! My 100,000 lire. SMP

Well, just goes to show that you don't really follow threads, and just spout what you want to. As I previously said, I started poking around in this group because I'm being forced to administer an Informix Database. Of course I have found that there isn't much use for this group, because anyone that mentions another database has an immediate thrashing coming, and a "switch to Infomix you moran" answer to questions. Playing Gladiator? Wearing out my welcome? Oh my God, my feelings are hurt! (NOT). You are right that this group is quite amusing. In other groups there are actually decent answers when someone poses a question about another database. Heck, when there are questions posed about Oracle vs. ?? the answers given are quite fair and comprehensive as well. Of course I never see questions posed in that group about Oracle vs. Informix...it's almost always Oracle vs. Sybase/SQL Server. Does that tell you anything?
