Well looking at the dates, some of them are several days old. I find it hard to believe that a sort would take that long, even on an Ultra 2 ;) We seem to have two problems: (1) it's not cleaning up after itself, and (2) it isn't directing sort work files into the tempdbs even though DBSPACETEMP is defined. I'll take this up with Tech Support; thanks for all your helpful comments.
