He people, I didn't INVENT the error. It occurs! Again and again and
again! On SCO, on HPUX, on AIX and on Linux. So stop the 'NONSENSE'
remarks unless you can really prove I am wrong, then present the
argument and after i have verified you remarks are true and I am wrong
(which quite frankly would surprise me enormously) i will admit i am
wrong.

See below:
1. rootdbs' only chunk, /opt/informix/dbspaces5/rootdbs is a link to
/dev/vgexceed_bcv/rrootdbs_5
2. I stop the instance
3. I remove /opt/informix/dbspaces5/rootdbs
4. I recreate /opt/informix/dbspaces5/rootdbs, this time as a link to
/dev/vgexceed_bcv/rootdbs_5
5. I restart the engine, with no problems, chunk or otherwise, at all
This was on HP-UX 11.11, IDS 9.21, but I've done the same on SCO OpenServer
in the past. I can assure you that you are mistaken on this one.
