Hi, I'm newbie at informix. I have installed informix 4gl720ud7 for linux. When I choose one option in the main menu, I receive the following message: "-25553: sqlhosts file not found or cannot be opened". So, my question is - How can I have all conditions to create and have access to one database.

One copy of the question is sufficient. To access a database from Informix-4GL, you need to set the environment variable INFORMIXSERVER, and there needs to be an entry for that server in your sqlhosts file. There are various other criteria that must be met; for instance, if your software is not installed in /usr/informix, you need to set INFORMIXDIR, and if your system's sqlhosts file is not in $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts, then you need to set INFORMIXSQLHOSTS. Where is your Informix database server? You will need to set up an appropriate entry in sqlhosts to get access to it. If you expect it to be on your Linux machine, you will need to install it; the database server hasn't been distributed with I4GL for about 10 years now. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
