Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

One one CPUVP supported. No PDQ, No fragmentation, Max of 96 users
- we checked with Informix and it may have even been uped to us
as 32/64 was too low.
>o What's the onmonitor's equivalent?
It's not there, Informix were going to phase it out I shouted to c.d.i
and they shouted at IIUG (International Informix User Group) and they
shouted at Informix....it will be brought back.
>o May I use raw devices too?
Yes but you have to install with a small (use 50Mb) cooked root
dbspace then edit onconfig by hand and oninit -i to create an
EMPTY root dbspace then add chunks using onspaces -a...then load
your data.
>o How do you compare the performance with Online-DS and INFORMIX-SE?
In between. Note INFORMIX-SE will be phased out real soon and
OWS will be the replacement.
>o Is Online-WS the INFORMIX-SE killer?
Yes.
>o Is anyone using it on a production environment?
No but I will be next week...possible for 2 databases + 2 applications
by next Friday!!

I don't like the install - it is too automated and basically creates/
starts up an instance with a cooked root dbspace for you when you
install it.
