Also, remove explicit dependencies on the Informix libraries; they change from release to release, so you typically have to fix the makefile every time you change the version of I4GL. > ---------- > what is new name of the library, it is maybe substituted by netsubst.a. > > My other Problem concerns the LINUXLIBs. > > the error message : > > xxx.o(.text+0xad) undefinded references > .... > .... > .... > and so on > > (all Object entries in the makefile) > > extract of the makefile : > > # EXECUTE=x1x1 > > # LFLAGS=-lnsl_s -lprot -lsocket -lx -lsurses -lm -lcrypt_i -lm -lcurses > > # cc -c xxx $(MYLIBS) $(INFORMIXLIBS) -o xxx.out $(LFLAGS) > > -----------> my problem !!! > > Where are these LIBRARIES under SuSE Linux 7.0. Nowhere. Well, -lm is the maths library; that'll be there. The others are highly platform specific. Try leaving them all out and using c4gl to do the linking. If there are still undefined symbols, then you can try adding in those libraries, one by one. They're mostly in /usr/lib (maybe /lib). Have fun -- don't forget to send a nastygram to the original author of the makefile for leaving so many system dependencies in it. -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"
