Hi,
I am creating a new instance, "test1" from an existing instance, "test". I use
the Unix command, "DD" to copy the chunk data from test to another chunk for
"test1". When the "test1" instance comes up, the onstat -d command shows the
chunk point to the link from the "test" instance. I have removed the link for
the "test" instance and still the "test1" instance points to the old link. I
have traced this information to the sysmaster table, "syschktab". I cannot
update this table, as it is a pseudo table.
Is there any way that I can update the links information. I do not want to be
misled by the links information.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
the sysmaster database cannot be updated to reflect different
chunk path names (be it a link or an actual path name).
What you would need to do is to use the (new) "chunk rename"
option for the restore command (with ontape or ON-Bar as
archive/restore tool). However, this option is only available
with version 9.40.xCx, beginning with 9.40.xC1.

Martin
