Don't use the default HP-UX compiler which only handles K&R C. It is adequate for relinking the kernel; it is not adequate for general work. Either buy the full compiler, or get GCC (GNU C Compiler). Or get a de-prototyping program (comes with GCC, if I remember aright; a converter to prototypes definitely comes with GCC) which will convert the prototype notation into K&R C. Don't try compiling any of my current code; it assumes you have a prototype-aware C compiler. Yours, Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h>
