214: Cannot remove file for table

Dear all, i getting following error when trying to drop table 214: Cannot remove file for table (informix.mydeal_trans_details). 106: ISAM error: non-exclusive access. i check the sessions and sql as well but no any connections i have informix 11.70FC8 any idea about this Thanks Pushpa

Hello. Sorry, you don´t need to put the engine in admin mode, just for doing some alter operation with lock. The recommended process would be: 1) take the table partnum 2) search in sysmaster:syslocks for the table partnum 3) detail what session(s) would be locking the table, and: 3.1) maybe kill them, if they are hang? 3.2) use IFX_DIRTY_WAIT environment variable, to wait for some more time, until all locks are released and the alter process will run right away.... (this is always my usual way out)... Hope it helps. Regards.
