Reorginizing bdspaces

I am getting ready to organize our database into different dbspaces. I'm =
just wanting to check the correct syntax for the create table and and =
index statements in the dbexport sql. Is it create table ....blah =
blah.......in dbspace? (the dbspace name).
Thanks

It's in the manual which is available online at
http://www.informix.com/answers
However if you use
dbexport databasename -ss
it'll create the appropriate statements and you can simply change the
dbspace names as you want to.
However there is no need to do a dbexport and dbimport as you seem to
plan if you have a new enough version of IDS (from 7.2x I believe). In
that case you can simply use:
alter fragment on tablename init in dbspacename
and your table will automagically be moved to the new dbspace. If this isn't available why not use unload and load of individual
tables?
Faster than that may be the table copy program available in one of the
utilities of Art Kagel at http://www.iiug.org (look for for utils_ak
and utils2_ak in the software repository).

FAQ at: http://www.iiug.org/techinfo/faq/faq_top.html
(Now with ODBC info under "Third party products".)
Have a look at the ALTER FRAGMENT SQL statement. It may do what you want in
a quicker and safer way.
