Oh dear, an ODBC problem

Morning people, meet the problem, just setup the sdk on my pc and get all excited about the odbc drivers, so i setup informix on our AIX box to support it. Cool, I can telnet to the port and get a connection. But from my PC, no such joy, even another unix server in the building will not do it. But the RS/6000 allows it. The port is 1530 and I have tried others, I even started the instance as root. Any suggestions, this is on AIX 4.3.3 brett

[This followup was posted to comp.databases.informix and a copy was sent to the cited author.] Sorry, behaving like an end-user. ilogin doesn't do anything remotely interesting, just sits there. telnet to the port just sits for a few seconds then comes up with 'connect failed' From the unix box though, telnet to localhost on that port works which leads me to believe that it may be related to the unix server.
