Res: Restore backup and Archecker Failed...

Hi Superboer, After the problem with this backup, I restored a 5 old days backup level 0 , works fine... just to get the data where my user need.. This last weekend I restored again the backup with "problem" with AFDEBUG=1 ... but.. this time , the restore works... I believe what cause the problem probably are the copy over network between the machines where the backup file are stored and the machine where i used to execute the restore... I have a md5 of the file...but I forget to check when the error occur... this time i copy the file again... maybe because that works fine.. thanks for the help anyway... Question is why/where. can you repeat this... and export AFDEBUG=1 ontape -r when it fails do a onstat -D this will tell you how much has been restored... if this is 2 GB then dd your file to a real tape ( or remote machine and hope that it can be tricked...) using the blocksize used. Best is real tape or search this news group for some additional hacks... repeat the restore and see what happens.... hopefully you are lucky....
