Re: What is Informix ?

From: "The Milford Docks Company" <mdcnews@softnet.co.uk> >>I've got a job interview in a few days, and part of the role involves >>having >>a basic knowledge of Informix SQL and Informix SE . Can anyone suggest any >>locations on the Web. >I think you're mad. But anyway: http://www.informix.com/answers/ I concur. I got my current job because noone told me it required a knowledge of informix and noone asked me did I know anything about informix in the interview. So I got the job but now I am paying the price of my ignorance (not to mention the incompetence of the people who interviewed me). Believe me it's no fun trying to learn Informix overnight. Sometimes I wish I hadn't got the job. Unless you have some knowledge of some flavour of SQL and some flavour of database then I suggest that you'll need to do more than just swot for the interview. You better start studying seriously *now* so you'll have a fighting chance of doing the job when you get it. Run out and buy "Informix DBA Survival Guide" by Joe Lumbley ISBN 0-13-079623-9 for starters. That's my 2 cents. Anyway good luck with your interview :)
