It was apparently a known bug in a specific version. You : shouldn't see any significant delay whatsoever in querying over the net. What is the latest version then?? 5.01 ?? While we are at it, I wonder if anyone experience this too. Every time a PC connected to the sqlexecd on the server is killed. ie connection down for some reason, say a reboot on the PC, the sqlturbo process that was spawned by the sqlexecd did not kill itself automatically. Thus, the number of sqlturbo process just kept on increasing as people rebooted their PC when the progam hangs. This is quite annoying, tbstat -u and ps listing doesn't give a hint of which is the sqlturbo process that connection has died too. Both INet 4.1 & INet 5.0 has the same problem. Actually, it is more a problem on the sqlexecd side, to be specific, sqlturbo process itself. Apparently, tbinit will auto-detect if the sqlturbo process is still there, but the sqlturbo process doesn't check if the front-end is still there. Calvin Ng
