Who created the database and tables? You should be able to connect as that
user. grant connect to {user-id}
Check out the grant statement.

Subject: Informix SE - JDBC problem
I have JDBC for informix SE installed on HPUX 10.20.
When i use the JDBC to connect to a database, the only user i am able to
connect to a database with is a super user (root) - permissions right? i
can't find where....
- the c-isam files are read/write world
- in the DB engine i can connect to DBserver/database specifically as
user/password over the sesoctcp service (from dbaccess).
- java is able to read and write files using normal file permission.
If i use a connect string with username and password, then the JDBC fails
to connect to the database, even if the username and password in the connect
string is the same as that of the superuser running the JDBC app from
command line. But if i run the same program with no username/password, i
can get a connection (but only as a superuser).
Versions:
Java jdk1.1.8
JDBC 1.40
Informix SE 7.24.UC1
sqlexed is running as sesoctcp
does anyone have any information that might help?
