depends what you want to do with the images. If you just want to store them and retrieve them, then store them directly in the informix database as Binary Objects column type - Byte. if you have a column called say "image" then you can basically insert into <table>(image) and "select image from <table>". If you need to be able to search on the content of the image then you may want need to do something a bit more complicated, however excaliber I think did produce and image recognition balde. not sure if they still have that and it would only work with IDS 9. As obnoxio said check out the IDS version. Any 7.2 is now very very old and unsupported.
