We are trying to run a remote query using a socket connection and are looking for a way to change the value of DBSPACETEMP to another dbspace (just for this query). I do not want to change it in the onconfig file. Because we are doing this through a socket connection and not actually logging in to the remote database, the .profile does not get executed and cannot even be set in the .profile. Is there any way to change this inside the query or to set it remotely ? Thanks in advance for any help on this. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
Hi, DBSPACETEMP is also an environment variable. Environment variables will be evaluated when you initialize your connection. If you would run the query in a seperate process it will be possible to modify the DBSPACETEMP environment variable before you start the query. Regards, Stefan
