Informix IDS on Linux

Hi, We are planning to install a 4GL application that actually run with Informix Online 5.02 under SCO Unix 3.2.4 in over 15 servers. In order to reduce costs we are thinking in install the application but using Linux instead of SCO and Informix IDS 7.3 instead of Online. Does Linux work better than SCO Unix with 4GL and Informix?
