IUS & webdriver: how to display text column ?

Having IUS 9.13 UC1 with web datablade 3.30 UC5 under Solaris 2.6 it seems to be unpossible to select a text column: >>> Exception from Informix: XIX000:-9634:No cast from text to lvarchar. Is there a newer web datablade version which does this or any workaround ?
