Hi, I need configure my terminal for use a keyboard specific (ibm3151) on linux. I have instaled( Informix SE. Informix SQL and Informix 4GL) V7.30 , all running correct. My S.O is RED HAT 6.0 (LINUX) My programs on 4GL need use key funtion F1 F2..... F12 but my configuration actualy is imposible . When keypress F1 in my keyboard , this to do (hace) F2, and the rest F2..... F8 nothing. Can you help my. In my Institute, I use Win95 with TUN EMUL Client , the Server is a Risk with UNIX . The TUN EMUL Client have how type of terminal a specific (ibm3151) what khnow the key function F1------ F12

If it is anything but ibm3151 then search on the bos to see if you can find the ibm3151. (i.e. find . -print |grep 3151) this should be the terminfo you use. export TERM=path/ibm3151 you should be O.K. It you still have any problems you have to edit the terminfo file (termcap if you are using termcap). It is not complicated, read through the manual pages, it wouldbe very easy. man -a teminfo man -a termcap on your linux box for the manual pages. If you decide to create or modify a termcap entry, you might get some ideas from submissions in the IIUG Repository. These particular samples are somewhat dated (vintage 94-96), but may help. See ftp://ftp.iiug.org/pub/informix/pub/termcaps/ibm.Z or http://www.iiug.org/members/memb_software/archive/termcaps_ibm which are FTP and Web versions of the same file.
