Hi. From time to time I get the following error in my logs:
listener-thread: err = -25572: Network driver cannot bind a name to the
port.
System error = 5.
Attempting to bring listener thread down
This is normally during a restart; today was a situation where I had to
yo-yo the engine to get some config parameters reset. I do a netstat -a
and grep for the service name/number, but never do I find something else
using that port. Obviously there is something hung up that makes the OS
think that the service is still in use.
So far, the only options have been to (a) wait, or (b) reboot, neither an
attractive option for a production machine. (I have tried stopping and
restarting all network services, to no avail.) Needless to say, due to
the obsolete machine and operating system combination, we are stuck with
7.10.UC5.
Thanks,
David
