When I run our IBM AIX V4.3 box with SE 7.23.UC11, none of our normal setups
seem to work properly.
Our /etc/services file contains:
silver1 1536/tcp # INFORMIX-SE
Our /etc/hosts file contains:
147.71.98.106 silver.bdsn.com silver
Our sqlhost file is:
# demo_on onipcshm on_hostname on_servername
# demo_se seipcpip se_hostname sqlexec
silverse sesoctcp silver.bdsn.com silver1
local_se seipcpip silver.bdsn.com sqlexec
With IINFORMIXSERVER set to silverse, starting 'qlexecd silverse' as root
results in:
1999-09-03 13:44:23.600784 daemon err = -25572: Network driver cannot
bind a name to the port. System error = 67.
With INFORMIXSERVER set to local_se, running isql <dbname> from a
unix prompt on silver results in:
25591: Transport control received an invalid connection address.
We have other AIX boxes running older versions of V7.X SE successfully, as
well as a Linux SE V7.x.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Somebody had this last week, unfortunately I deleted the response you
might like to check the archive. AFAIR you need to use ontlitcp and not
on onsoctcp, error 67 is invalid port or something, but I'm dredging this
from memory
