You have to ignore these conflicts -- they are harmless. I think --force does the trick. >file /opt/informix/msg/en_us/0333/xopen.iem from install of >csdk-2.40.UC1-1 conflicts with file from package IIF-9.21.UC2-1 > >Since the last Solaris and Windows SDKs were uploaded to Intraware on >August 8, 2000, I'm assuming that the web site is up to date. >Doesthat mean that there are no Linux SDKs compatible with the current >Linux server? Any help would be greatly appreciated. It means that Informix does not separate common components of the software into a separate RPM. The GLS files should be a separate RPM. The message files should be a separate RPM. And any other file that is shared between two or more products should be separate (including etc/install). Then you'd get a collection of RPM files (roughly like the GCC compiler and libraries and tools come as a collection of RPMs), and you'd install the lot at one go, and RPM would sort out the dependencies etc. It hasn't happened yet, unfortunately. -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"
-nodeps is also sometimes needed. So -nodeps -force !
