Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

I'm in the middle of building a server and it strikes me that onspaces is
a bit daft when adding new mirrored chunks. It takes an *age* to do this
which suggests it's actually copying everything from primary to mirror,
even though both should be empty. Is this what's happening? Is there a
valid reason for it? Adding an un-mirrored 2Gb chunk takes about a second,
which suggests there's no "formatting" within it, so what's the point of
syncing an empty primary to its mirror?
Jon.

Don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised. onstat -D would tell you. Anyway,
it's not a bad idea to make sure that every page in the old and new chunk is
readable/writeable is it?
Neil
P.S. Is your mirror a raw disk chunk?
