*Problem with Multiple Residency**

Can any body help with second instance problem: I'm trying to create a second instance of Informix 7.1 on our Solaris Sparc-20 in the lab. I've done all the dirty work of creating a new CONFIG file, adding entry in the $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts, amking sure they match with /etc/hosts and /etc/services files. I am using a good IP address in the /etc/services file and a new TCP/IP port set up in the /etc/hosts file. The new CONFIG file is in the $INFORMIXDIR/etc area with new SERVERNAME, MSGPATH, DBSERVERNAME. I have a new path for the rootbdbs (its a cook file system). When I come to initialise the rootdbs. it comes back with "SHARED MEMORY NOT INITIALISED". And the message log has the error no. -25572 NETWORK DRIVER CANNOT BIND A NAME TO THE PORT. It suggest in the ERROR MESSAGES book to change the SERVICENAME. Guess what I did that. tried different TCP port number. It still doesn't work...Helllllllllppppppp. r.c.
