PS From someone who once did
update systables set dirpath = "xx";
NO WHERE CLAUSE... ALL SYSTEM TABLES ARE NO
LONGER ACCESSIBLE...
Thinks overnight...
create empty db - Note which .dat and .idxs are needed for
any empty db i.e. which are the system tables.
- add empty tables with correct structure using the dbschema I had
kept.before my fatal update
- copy system tables into broken .dbs directory.
- update systables to make systables point to correct .dat and .idx
files
- unload a few tables as a test
- dbexport complete db
- update stats
Volia, fixed database - magic!!
A recovery method Informix Tech Support would not think of in
their wildest mightmares! I'm so good..better service than
even Informix Tech Support can provide!
