Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

You can check the disk free status on your instance by running an onstat
-d. You can add space if you need some using the onspaces command. Check
out the DBSPACETEMP parameter in your ONCONFIG file to see if you have temp
dbspaces set up. Check out the environment variable PSORT_DBTEMP and see if
the directory it points to has "enough" space. The value of enough depends
on your query. IMHO. this is too broad a question to answer in a few
sentences, so I would advise you to RTFM for the relevant commands and
environment variables mentioned enough.

Subject: db space
I am running some isql statements that are sorting a large group of
records. I get the following 2 errors:
564: Cannot sort rows.
28: No space left on device.
We are new to Informix so I don't know if we have any temp db space set up.
How should we set some up?
We are running Informix 7.14 on a RS/6000
Thanks,
