The easiest way is to write an ALARMPROGRAM that will notify you when the engine issues any alerts through it. In addition you will want to monitor the free space in the chunks by parsing the output of onstat -d or the sysmaster tables. That will take care of MOST of what you need to watch, though not all by far. There is a sample ALARMPROGRAM in my submission to the IIUG Software Repository, that I use here, in the package utils3_ak. Art S.
