Hi,
Here's my problem. I have machine A & B both Sun machines on the same LAN.
Both machine's A & B are running online 7. i am trying to access machine B's
databases from machine A. I have changed the sqlhosts file on machine A to
reflect the database of machine B (dbservername, nettype-ontlitcp, hostname,
service). I have defined the service in /etc/services on machine A and
allocated a unique name & port number.
I shutdown online and enter onmonitor to add the new dbservername.
After adding the new name under PARAMETERS:SHARED MEMORY:SERVER ALIASES
I try and bring online to quiescent mode and I get the following error
"listener-thread:err = -25572:Network driver cannot bind a name to the
port. System error = 8"
From machine A, I am able to telnet & ping machine B. The service/port number
is unique for machines A & B.
I have tried all possible combinations with no success. Am I
overlooking/missing something? At this point any advice is
appreciated.
Thanks
