RE: Urgent help needed - shared memory size growing and growing

Are you using the NVL function? Last summer we encountered a problem with that particular IDS 7.3x feature. The problem was traced to the following Informix bug that was fixed in subsequent 7.3x releases. 100419 USING NVL FUNCTION ON 7.30 CAUSES 2 OR 3 SHARED MEMORY SEGMENTS TO BE DYNAMICALLY ALLOCATED, SAME QUERY WITHOUT NVL FUNCTION DOES NOT. We changed our queries to use the CASE statement in order to circumvent the problem. -----Original Message----- From: Lauri Pietarinen To: informix-list@iiug.org Sent: 2/11/00 7:47 AM Subject: Urgent help needed - shared memory size growing and growing Hello everybody! I have an urgent problem with executing a stored prosedure. The amount of shared memory for the connection is constantly increasing, as can be seen from this output. What could be the cause for this problem??
