Being an ex Informix employee and a consultant specializing in Informix for a long time I have some observations here. It appears Informix is going away as a database, I used to get several calls a week wanting Informix experience, lately none. The want ads in the paper never have Informix experience listed as desireable anymore. Is this an anomolie in my area (Atlanta) or have others noticed this too? Gee, I'd think someone in your current business would know how to spell desirable! > Is this an anomolie in my area (Atlanta) or have others noticed this > too? Nah, Mike is, uh, an old hand. One of our old shooting stars. As it were. I guess he's just been spoiled by people wanting to gobble him up. For his services. Perhaps you just need to take the matter in hand yourself, Mike. I think it might just be regional. Or else people have been watching your videos and they're scared you'll *really* f*** them over. :-> On a more serious note, I've had a stiff chat with one or two "high-ups" (right-ups?) and I think that Informix have a practical, achievable short term plan. The long-term has as much chance as anyone, but at least they have a plan that doesn't sound like it was conceived under the influence of LSD. It may take a month or two for it to filter through, but I'm broadly optimistic. For what _that's_ worth. :-)
It's a serious post, as a pornographer I do well but the supplemental income that has always been available as a consultant is really sweet. I am curious if others have noticed this same hit in the pocketbook. As for my spelling, hey I claim to be a pornographer and a consultant, not an etymologist. besides if you understand what I mean who is to say it's wrong.
