Triggers question

People,
Is there a way to refresh a trigger , rather then drop and recreate it. I need
it as when a trigger body contain an insert statement on table and on this
table you add a column you get -2236 error. To solve this you need to drop and
recreate the trigger.
The same statement executes find from dbaccess, but fails from the trigger.
I am in the planning stages for upgrading one of out DB servers next year from a dual PIII 866Mhz on RH Linux 7.1 and IDS 9.21.UC4 to RH Enterprise 3.0 with IDS 9.40.UC5. The question I have, does IBM/Informix support any of the AMD 32 bit or 64 bit processor and what about 64 bit Linux.
