Problem in onstat - through another user

I am using IDS.9.40.UC1 on linux. The owner of IDS is informix. I had set the required environment variables for another user that is required to access the informix. When i run the onstat - command it throws error: onstat: Shared memory: permission denied. When i run oncheck -pe, it gives error; Unable to attach to shared memory. Permission denied I have checked the rights on onstat and oncheck file: -rwxr-xr-x 1 informix informix 1438131 May 28 2003 oncheck -rwxr-xr-x 1 informix informix 3974879 May 28 2003 onstat But i am not able to run the command through "test" user. The rights of Test user comes through NIS. Please suggest to solve issue. Thanks in Advance Gulshan

Your IDS software was installed (or copied) incorrectly. Those permissions are wrong. It needs to be installed as root or copied as root to get the correct permissions on executables that attach to SHM.
