Check out http://www.informix.com/informix/services/ilink/plc/plccat3.htm in the Informix TechInfo Center. Bottom line: 7.2x goes to Category 4 (Time and Materials maintenance only) on 30 Jun 2000; 7.30 goes to Category 4 on 31 Dec 2000; 7.31 is now in Category 3, with no *current* planned date for move to Category 4. 9.21HCx is for 64-bit platforms, running in 64-bit mode. 9.21FCx is for 64-bit platforms, running in 32-bit mode. 9.21UCx is for 32-bit platforms. AFAIK, 9.21HCx on HP-UX 11.0 does not have 1.75 Gb shared memory limitation anymore, *provided that you are running in 64-bit mode*. I think that 32-bit mode still has the limitation, though. Hi, I've heard from Informix software in the Netherlands that the support on IDS 7.X ends in June 2000 and that I should upgrade to IDS 9.21. Can someone confirm/deny this date? We will run IDS on a HP-UX 11 64 bit HP9000 machine with 8 processors and 6 GB of internal memory. We're planning to use is for 200-300 concurrent users in BaanERP. What are the pro's con's of using 9.x vs 7.x? Which version do we need? IDS 7.31.FC4? or ?? Where does the FC stands for? Is the 7.x 1.7 GB Shared memory limit a problem for us? Thanks in advance -- Greetings, Ditmar den Engelsen Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
